X Platform October 29 AI Brief | Google’s Gemini 4 Carbon Tops Overall Rankings, OpenAI Distributes API Credits to Subscribers, Apple Unveils Touchscreen MacBook Pro

01 Google Releases Gemini 4 Carbon, Topping the Comprehensive Leaderboard with a Focus on Cybersecurity and Long-Context Reasoning

Google has officially released its latest cutting-edge large model, Gemini 4 Carbon, just two weeks after the launch of its predecessor, Gemini 4 Argon. According to the latest v5.0 comprehensive benchmark list published by the third-party evaluation agency Artificial Analysis, Gemini 4 Carbon scored 59 points and ranked first overall, surpassing the previously leading Claude Opus 5.5 (58 points) and GPT-6 Astra (57 points). Among the 17 benchmark tests disclosed by Google, Carbon set new high-score records in 15 of them, achieving breakthroughs particularly in the cybersecurity defense lifecycle and long-context task execution.

According to officially released security evaluation data, Carbon achieved 88.2% in the SEC-bench Pro test for identifying real vulnerabilities in complex systems like browsers, scored 54.8% in ExploitGym for assessing exploitability in isolated offline environments, and attained 71.0% in the CWE-bench test for patching real open-source projects. In terms of mechanism, the model possesses the capability for continuous task exploration over several days and an automatic error correction mechanism. Regarding the release strategy, Google has adopted a gradual rollout approach. This week, the first batch is exclusively available to critical infrastructure and trusted cybersecurity defense teams reviewed under the Fairwind program. A full rollout for developers and general users will require waiting for subsequent arrangements.

02 OpenAI Offers Up to $500 in Monthly API Credits for ChatGPT Pro and Business Subscribers

The OpenAI developer platform has officially launched member API credit benefits. Eligible ChatGPT Pro and Business subscribers can now claim up to $500 in API credits per month at no extra cost, to be used for calling models to build external applications and agents. This move breaks the previous model where ChatGPT subscription fees and developer API billing were completely separate, further lowering the development and usage barrier for subscribers.

Regarding the credit allocation mechanism, Pro users receive $100, $200, or $500 per month corresponding to their subscription tier. Business users are calculated based on team seats: $20 per standard seat and $100 per advanced seat, with a combined workspace cap of $500. Users need to link their developer organization in the “Settings-Billing” section of the web-based ChatGPT to claim the credits and use them with official plugins in ChatGPT or Codex to generate keys. It is important to note that these complimentary credits are valid only for the current month and cannot be carried over. They are also explicitly not applicable for offsetting the costs of running Codex.

03 Apple Releases New Touchscreen MacBook Pro and Revives Classic Glowing Logo

Apple executives have officially announced the introduction of touch interaction support for the Mac, launching a new 14-inch MacBook Pro with a PROLED XDR display and touch support, alongside a new iMac. This marks the first time Apple has integrated touchscreen technology into its main MacBook Pro product line, aiming to provide creators with a new dimension of direct interaction and precise control. Simultaneously, the classic “glowing Apple logo,” absent from the back of Apple laptops for a decade, has officially made a comeback in these new products.

The community and creators have responded enthusiastically. Some developers and bloggers noted that the screen touch capability and higher-resolution screen material bring a completely new experience to mobile creation, and the return of the glowing logo has sparked widespread nostalgic resonance. However, there are also in-depth discussions within the community regarding the cost of high-spec hardware configurations, screen fingerprint smudges, and whether future hardware and software forms might further evolve into foldable screens and virtual touch keyboards.

04 baoyu-design v2 Open Source Release: Decouples Claude Core Suite for Full Localization Across Models

Developer Baoyu has open-sourced and released the baoyu-design v2 project, which fully reverse-engineers and ports Claude’s native Claude Design, Claude Slides, and Claude Dashboard to a local runtime environment. The new version completely removes the previous dependency on the online Claude Artifacts runtime, enabling it to run as a universal skill on any Agent framework and various underlying large models.

The project includes a lightweight built-in editor that supports two-way editing and automatic real-time synchronization with local project files. Users can either manually modify content directly in the editor or delegate incremental refactoring to an intelligent agent. The project also supports one-click export of generated results into multi-platform formats such as PDF, HTML, and PNG, and provides real-time responsive previews for different screen sizes. In terms of configuration, the suite is finely split into independent skills like design system import, page design, slide generation, and dashboard presentation to ensure consistency in overall visual specifications.

05 Grok Bot Expands Personal Agent Commercial Ecosystem, Continuously Breaks Daily Active User Growth Records

xAI’s Grok Bot is demonstrating rapid growth momentum and application deployment capabilities in the Personal Agent field. Third-party monitoring data shows its daily active user count has maintained growth for 16 consecutive days, setting the longest growth cycle since the product’s launch. Regarding commercial ecosystem partnerships, Shopify founder Tobi announced official support for the integration of Shop Pay with Grok Bot, enabling the agent to autonomously assist users in multi-platform price comparison and purchase ordering within e-commerce scenarios.

In daily use and team collaboration, users are increasingly adopting a workflow paradigm of assembling multiple vertically-focused Bots within group chats for collaborative division of labor, such as invoking separate dedicated Bots for drawing, data analysis, and task monitoring. In industry-wide horizontal comprehensive evaluations of several mainstream personal agents, Grok Bot has shown significant advantages in complex multi-task handling and end-to-end execution completion, sparking lively community discussion about how lightweight personal Agents are accelerating their penetration into daily productivity workflows.

06 Open-Source Models Advance on Two Fronts: Mistral Large 4 and NVIDIA Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe Debut Simultaneously

The open-source large model ecosystem has seen significant progress in the programming agent and versatile speech domains. European AI company Mistral announced the open-sourcing of its new flagship model, Mistral Large 4 (codenamed Le Chonk). This model boasts 1TB total parameters and 52B activated parameters, trained entirely within Mistral’s self-built data centers. It ranks first on the open-source model programming leaderboard FrontierCode and demonstrates strong capabilities in cybersecurity offense and defense evaluations. The code and weights have been simultaneously released on Hugging Face.

Concurrently, NVIDIA has open-sourced the versatile speech-to-text model Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe and its accompanying data processing solution, Granary v2. This model employs a 30B parameter MoE architecture (with approximately 4B activated parameters) and innovatively integrates speech recognition, speaker diarization, translation for 40 languages, and Q&A on recorded content within a single model. It supports simultaneously separating up to 8 speakers and handling complex overlapping conversations. Users can directly use natural language instructions to achieve transcription by speaker or extract core meeting summaries, also demonstrating excellent performance in challenging scenarios like professional medical terminology transcription.

07 Kimi.ai Officially Integrates with Google Workspace Office Ecosystem

Moonshot AI’s Kimi.ai has announced the official establishment of connectivity and integration with the core office suite of Google Workspace. The first batch of integrated services includes three high-frequency services: Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar. Under the security of user-authorized OAuth connections, Kimi has gained the ability to directly read and process data from mainstream overseas office workflows.

Through this integration, users no longer need to manually export or copy content between different windows. They can directly instruct Kimi to summarize long and complex email threads, efficiently search and analyze files stored in cloud drives, and schedule appointments in calendars based on real-time discussions. This further expands the practical boundaries of domestic large models in cross-border collaboration and daily office automation.
